WATERLOO – Kathleen “Kate” G. Kerridge Litzenberger, 101, of Waterloo, NY, passed away Sunday (March 12, 2023) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, NY.
Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday (March 17) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday (March 18) at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Waterloo Library and Historical Society, 31 E. Williams St., Waterloo, NY, 13165.
Kate was born July 28, 1921, in Midland, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of William S. and Doris Mount Kerridge. Kate was a graduate of Waterloo High School. She was a secretary for J. Souhan and Son Dairy and later was employed with the Waterloo Central School District as a high school Study Hall monitor. She was a longtime and active volunteer for the Terwilliger Museum. Kate was a longtime and active member of Grace Church Willowdale. She is known for her many talents and handiwork such as painting pictures, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and woodworking.
She is survived by her daughter Diane Cordwell of Waterloo, NY; granddaughters Krista Cordwell of Waterloo, NY and Kathleen “Kit” (Christopher Fischer) Cordwell of Port Byron, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
Kate was predeceased by her husband Ray Litzenberger; son-in-law Clarence “Lee” Cordwell; and sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy (Robert) Kime and B. Jean (Calvin) Keefer; and brother and sister-in-law Kenneth (Virginia) Kerridge.
